This privacy policy explains how NANAKOROBI ("we") handles user information in the mobile app KotoLis ("the app"). Please read it before using the app.
1. Our basic position
The app does not require an account or a sign-in. The lists you create (the title, your name, and the items under "Things I'd love" and "Things I'd rather not") are stored only on your own device. We cannot collect, transmit or read that content, and it is never sent to our servers — we do not operate a server or a database for this app at all.
The app is free, and to make that possible it shows ads (Google AdMob). A third party (Google) may collect certain information in order to deliver those ads. See section 5 for details.
2. Information stored on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.
- List contents: the title, the author name, and the wording and order of every item you enter under "Things I'd love" and "Things I'd rather not".
- Lists you received: the contents of any list shared with you that you chose to save.
- App settings: settings related to how the app behaves.
All of this data is removed from your device when you uninstall the app.
3. About sharing (important)
The app lets you share a list in three ways: as an image, as a link, or as a QR code. In none of these cases is the content of your list stored on our servers.
- Sharing as an image: the list is rendered into a single image on your device and handed to the app you choose.
- Sharing as a link or a QR code: the list content is compressed into a string and placed in the URL fragment (the part after #). By the design of the web, a URL fragment is not sent to the server. Opening the link therefore does not hand the content to any server; it is decoded and shown only inside the app on the recipient's device.
⚠️ Please note. A shared link or QR code has the list content embedded in it. That embedding is compression to keep the URL short — it is not encryption. Anyone who receives the link or the QR code can decode the content. In addition, the service you send or post the URL through (social media, messaging apps and so on) may keep a record of that URL. Please be careful who you share with, and do not share anything you would not want others to see.
If a shared link is opened on a device that does not have the app installed, a web page inviting the visitor to install it is shown. That page does not read or display the list content. When the page is served, the hosting provider may record ordinary access logs such as the time of access, the IP address and the browser type — but as described above, the list content is never sent to the server.
4. Device features and permissions
The app uses the following device features to provide its functionality.
- Sharing: the standard sharing feature of your device, used to hand the image or link you created to another app. You choose the destination.
- Saving to your gallery: only when you run an export, the card image or QR code image the app created is saved to your device's gallery (the album kotolist). Only images the app itself produced are written; the app does not read photos you already have.
- Internet access: used to display ads.
The app does not access your contacts, location, microphone or camera. As for photos, it only writes the exports described above; it does not browse, read or transmit your existing photos.
5. About ads
The app displays ads through Google AdMob. To deliver, optimise and protect those ads from abuse, AdMob may automatically obtain and use information such as:
- Device identifiers such as the advertising identifier (Advertising ID / IDFA)
- Approximate location (derived from the IP address and similar signals)
- Device information and information about how the app is used
The list content you type into the app is never used for ad delivery. For how this information is handled, please see Google's privacy policy and related policies.
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information in advertising: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can opt out of personalised advertising or reset your advertising identifier from your device settings.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising
6. Children's privacy
The app is not designed primarily for children under 13. We do not collect personally identifiable information.
7. Disclosure to third parties
Because we do not collect personal information through the app, we do not provide any personal information to third parties. Information related to advertising is handled according to Google's policies, as described in section 5.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be changed without prior notice as laws change or features are added to the app. Significant changes will be announced on this page. The revised policy takes effect once it is published here.
